The ambition of De Watergroep’s is to be energy-neutral and, if possible, climate-neutral in both the products it offers and its own operations. Aquathermal energy can help to realize this ambition. The large quantity of drinking water that is produced is an ideal source for heat extraction. EXTRAQT makes an estimate of the energetic potential of all the drinking water that leaves the Kluizen site. This calculation considers, separately, the flow rate of water that leaves Kluizen as a function of time and the amount of water that is temporarily stored. The regeneration potential in the piping system is also determined. This estimate serves as a basis for strategic planning in the future.

In this project EXTRAQT is also studying the possibility of providing the heating/cooling and sanitary hot water for the office buildings based on the drinking water that is available on the site.
