EXTRAQT, commissioned by Hoogheemraadschap De Stichtse Rijnlanden (HDSR), developed an interactive aquathermal atlas mapping the actual, sustainably available heat potential from surface water (TEO) within HDSR's management area.

The historic Kasteel de Merode in Westerlo switched from natural gas to a bivalent heating system incorporating aquathermal energy, realised by Eco-Technix in collaboration with EXTRAQT. The project won a Techlink Award and uses the castle's moat as its main heat source.

The Dijlemolens residential complex in Leuven now heats its building using aquathermal energy drawn from the river Dijle. It is the first installation of its kind in Belgium and serves as a flagship project for a climate-neutral Leuven.

EXTRAQT, together with Provinsje Fryslân and Wetterwaarmte, has launched an interactive aquathermal energy atlas for Friesland. The tool shows, per water body and per neighbourhood, how much sustainable heat is available and realistically usable through aquathermal energy.
